Stockton Fireworks Committee President Seeks More Community Help

Stockton, Illinois — July 6, 2017 — It’s a pretty known fact that we all enjoy celebrating our independence when July starts to roll around each year. The thought of enjoying fireworks, and in many cases an all day celebration full of events, has us anxious to enjoy the holiday festivities. But what most people don’t realize is the work that goes in behind the scenes, to make all that fun happen each year.

As President of the Stockton Fireworks committee, Steve Jordan‎ says he has come to the conclusion that he needs to find some additional help with the management of the 4th of July celebration.

“…for my own sanity and for the sake of spending time with my family and enjoying the 4th of July, I need more help”, he said in a public statement. “We as the fireworks committee are spread pretty thin, and I have some duites that I would like to delegate to a few NEW people.”

Steve says the time commitment isn’t that consuming either. He says the committee only had 3 meeting for this past years event, each of which lasted less than an hour.

As far as Fireworks go, Stockton has a great reputation in the region for one of the best fireworks displays and one of the best July 4th community celebrations. It’s an event you could be proud to be a part of.

If you would like to join the Stockton Fireworks committee and help put on one of the regions best events, please reach out to Steve Jordan‎ via his email address

The committee is also holding another meeting on Thursday, July 27th at 6:00 p.m. at Illinois Bank & Trust, which you are encouraged to attend.
