Stephenson County, Illinois — Our next 100 Women Who Care-Stephenson County quarterly meeting will be hosted by Wolf Hollow Golf Course ( 6546 N Shippee Rd, Lena) on Thursday, August 9th from 6:30-7:30pm.
Last quarter all donations totaling $12,800 were presented to the Freeport Community Public School Fund. Since 1983, the FCPSF has purchased several non-consumable materials and equipment for every school and every subject area in grades K-12. These are valuable learning tools for which there is no other funding. Each year District #145 educators submit requests for items and the FCPSF determines which items can be funded with available monies. With this recent donation from 100 Women Who Care members the FCPSF will be able to grant many more requests that will enrich and enhance the education of our community’s children.
Examples of past purchases include: thousands of books for classrooms and libraries, science equipment, music instruments, math manipulatives, reading skill-building activities, support for the World Arts Festival, maps and globes, novel sets, art display racks, physical education equipment, classroom sets of scientific calculators, listening stations for K-4 classes, and video equipment for high school broadcasting classes.
As always, you can follow us on Facebook and we love new members so bring a friend to the meeting. Since the initiation of 100 Women Who Care-Stephenson County in February of 2015, members have donated $154,450 (including the $10,000 private family foundation matching donation) to local non-profit organizations. Great Jon Ladies!!!
