August Special Events & Programs At Your Freeport Park District

Freeport, Illinois — Watercolor painting instruction will be offered at the Krape Park Community Building on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. Participants will explore composition and color layering for painting summer flowers. Cost is $20 residents/$25 nonresidents. Register by July 28.

On Sunday, August 5, the Freeport Chorale Society will perform from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Koenig Amphitheater in Krape Park. Admission is free.

Friday evening, August 10, there will be multiple activities offered by the Freeport Park District. At the Read Park Aquatic Center, families can participate in the Luau Pool Party from 6-8 p.m. Water games and dance music will be provided and no reservations are needed. Discount family admission rates and rules apply. Costs are $2.00 per family member for residents and $3.00 per person for non-residents. All individuals 18 and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Proper swim attire is required.

At Krape Park, Rock N Glow Mini-Golf will be held on Friday, August 10 from 8-10 p.m. featuring glow-in-the-dark miniature golfing at Yellow Creek Adventure Golf. Admission is $5.00 per person and no reservations are needed. Youth under 18 yrs. must be accompanied by an adult.

The Family Overnight Campout will be held on August 10-11 with games, adventures and overnight tent camping in Krape Park. Participants should bring their own tent and sleeping bags. Groups, families and individuals are invited. Youth under 18 yrs. must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Check-in begins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 10 and sites must be vacated by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 11. The registration deadline is Aug 8th. Sites fees are $35 for residents/$40 for nonresidents and includes 1 boat rental and 4 passes to Rock N Glow Mini-Golf.

Music on the Patio at Park Hills Golf Course has been a summer favorite and the final event this season will be held on Friday, August 17 from 5-8 p.m. featuring live music from Randy Kint. Admission is free and all ages are welcome. Park Hills Golf Course is located at 3240 W. Stephenson Street.
