FREEPORT, ILLINOIS — Freeport Choral Society will present its Summer Pops Concert “Remember” on Sunday August 4, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Krape Park in the beautiful outdoor Koenig Amphitheatre.
This summer’s concert features a wide variety of songs that will bring back memories. Folk songs, spirituals, ballads, show tunes, pop music of the rock era, and “Battle Hymn of the Republic” featuring Nancy Lehman on piccolo are on the program. Jeffrey DeLay will lead off with “Try to Remember” from The Fantasticks.
The society men sing “I Wish I Was Single Again” and women perform a delightful medley from “Sister Act.” Walker Mortuary is assisting in the sponsorship of this venture with advertising and support at the concert. Admission is free, offering taken.
Jeffrey DeLay of Freeport will conduct the society choir. Randy Cook provides keyboard accompaniment with Patty Weik on percussion.
In the event of rain or inability to use the park, the location will be changed to St. John United Church of Christ, 1010 S. Park Blvd., Freeport.
