Set in New York City, this classic musical features gambler Nathan Detroit, who needs cash to set up the biggest craps game in town, and showgirl Adelaide, who laments that Nathan hasn’t married her yet. High roller Sky Masterson and missionary Sister Sarah take a quick trip to Havana, Cuba, in a delightful plot twist. You won’t want to miss familiar songs, such as “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat,” “Luck Be a Lady,” “I’ll Know,” and “A Bushel and a Peck.”
Tim Connors directs this crowd-pleasing show for the third time. It was the first musical he directed at Freeport High School, back in 1991. Robert Winter is the technical director, Derek Simons is the vocal director, Sarah Long is the choreographer, Oliver Peterson is the orchestra director, and Kathleen Williams is the costume designer.
FHS seniors play most of the leads in this song and dance extravaganza. Dan Rials is Nathan Detroit, Kya Eckert plays Adelaide, Garrett MacDonald plays Sky Masterson, Brynn Schiffmann plays Sarah, and Nike Corbitt plays Benny Southstreet. Junior Henry Connors plays Nicely Nicely Johnson.
