Highland Community College Music Department Holds Instrumental Fall Concert

FREEPORT, ILLINOIS — The Highland Community College Concert Band and Orchestra will hold their fall concert at 7 p.m. Friday, November 8 in the Fine Arts Theatre in the Ferguson Fine Arts Center, 2998 W. Pearl City Rd., Freeport, Ill.

The Concert Band is conducted by Scott Stich and features the music of Kabalevsky, Holst, Whitacre, Aretha Franklin, and Alfred Reed.

“We are excited for this year because the Highland String Orchestra and the Highland Concert Band Chamber Ensemble with percussion are working together to make the Highland Symphony Orchestra,” Stich said.

The Orchestra is conducted by Brandon Lamm, featuring the music of Tschaikowsky, Mussorgsky, Gounod, Dukas, and Saen-Saint. The Symphony Orchestra will feature the music of Copland and Stravinsky.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for students. Purchase tickets at highland.edu/boxoffice or at the door.
