Jan 4, 2019 — Highland Community College seeks entries for the 50th District Juried Art Exhibit in the Highland Gallery. The exhibition, displayed from February 14-March 6, will recognize local artists in the college’s district and celebrate visual contributions to the community.
The exhibit is open to original two-dimensional and three-dimensional art in any medium completed in the last two years and not previously exhibited in the Highland Gallery. Artists 18 years and older must live in the Highland district or enrolled at Highland.
All submissions are viewed and accepted or rejected into the exhibit based on meeting the exhibition prospectus criteria: eligibility, rules of entry, and limitations. Submitted work is accepted or rejected based on overall visual excellence determined by components such as compositional resolve, concept, content, and manipulation of media.
Submissions are composed of the actual artwork and supporting identification of work properly documented in the prospectus and entry form. Accepted submissions are viewed in two phases to determine award placement.
Artists may submit up to three works of art with a nonrefundable $3 fee per work. Delivery of the work, entry form and fee will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on January 31 at the Highland Gallery, located in the Ferguson Fine Arts Center, 2998 W. Pearl City Rd., Freeport, Ill.
