Freeport, Illinois — FHN’s Get FiTeam Challenge is back for 2018! For just $25 a person, teams of four can compete with other teams in a 12-week health and fitness program aimed at helping participants develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Prizes for winning teams include gift certificates to Hibbett Sports and Shopko.
The challenge officially begins January 14, after all participants have had a chance to get a baseline screening to note height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels. (Final screenings will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, and there will not be “make up” screening dates.) Participants also will receive a Get FiTeam t-shirt at their baseline screening.
Throughout the challenge, teams will have access to healthy recipes, health-related events and trial memberships at area health and fitness clubs. Teams will earn points for exercise, drinking enough water, and eating five servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
Prizes will be awarded throughout the challenge, and at the end of the competition, up to six teams will have a chance at grand prizes. Each participant in the team that has the largest percent of weight loss will win a $250 gift certificate to Hibbett Sports, and the team that earns the most challenge points will get a $250 gift certificate to Shopko for each team member.
