FREEPORT, ILLINOIS — Music on Chicago kicks off its 17th season this Friday with Hawaiian shirts and stuffed parrots featuring the tunes of Island Jack with opening act Spotted Dog.
The event is held on Chicago Avenue between Main and Stephenson Streets beginning at 5:30 pm with music wrapping up at 11 pm. The gate admission is $5 for adults and children under 12 are free.
Food will be available from several local vendors including Rafter’s Restaurant, Viet-Now, Wrapped in Smoke, 9 East Coffee and The Cookie Jar. Beer, wine, water and soda will be available for purchase including varieties from our local breweries and winery.
Music on Chicago is a summer music series scheduled for the first Friday of June, July and August. The event brings hundreds of people to Downtown Freeport to enjoy music, food and the company of friends each year. The event is hosted by the Greater Freeport Partnership with support from several local businesses and volunteers.
