FREEPORT, ILLINOIS — The Creative Learning Center Preschool is excited to announce a Sensory Play Date on Saturday, August 3 from 10 am to 12 noon at the Freeport Public Library. Kate Michalsen, director of the Creative Learning Center, will introduce and lead the activities. The Sensory Play Date will be held in one of the meeting rooms off of the main hallway – watch for the signs.
Sensory play includes activities that promote the use of our senses, balance or movement, and is an essential part of early childhood development. Sensory play promotes brain development, thought, creativity and learning. It also helps children develop creative thinking and the ability to problem solve and experiment with solutions.
Families, especially those with preschool age children, are invited to come enjoy a morning of sensory play together as a family.
The Creative Learning Center Preschool is sponsored by Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, which is located at 2700 W. Stephenson Street, Freeport. The Creative Learning Center is committed to child development, and helping children work toward kindergarten readiness.
