Freeport, Illinois — Have you ever wondered what your neighborhood looks like from the sky above? Or maybe you’re curious how airplanes work. You might even dream about flying one day or even, being a pilot yourself.
If you’re nodding your head “Yes” and are between the ages of 8 and 17, you’re ready to take a free Young Eagles flight in Freeport and see what real pilots do on the ground and in the air.
Since 1992, more than 2 million Young Eagles have enjoyed a flight from EAA’s network of volunteer pilots. For many, it was the start of their journey to becoming a pilot, aircraft mechanic, air traffic controller, or many other career possibilities. Young Eagle’s reached their goal and celebrated the 2 millionth Young Eagle flown during AirVenture Oshkosh 2016.
This Saturday June 9, 2018 from 9 am – 2 pm at the Albertus Airport, kids ages 8 through 17 are given free plane rides. A parent/guardian must complete and sign a registration form before the flight.
Sponsored by the Freeport Pilots Association/EAA Chapter 475.
