4. Black Diamond Music Studio’s Fall Blues Fest
On August 27 Deb put together the single largest all day music fest ever put on in Freeport.
On Saturday, October 1st there will be a mini Encore event at the Krape Park Band Shell with Diamond’s Fall Blues Fest. The event will feature Freeport and other area bands playing Blues, Jazz, RnB and Soul.
Open Jam before the event kicks off from 11-12:30 for any Bands or Musicians not part of the main line up. Then…
- Mark and Lynn Rische kickoff the event from 12:15-1pm with their Bluegrass/ Gospel Music
- Chuck Veer and Take 27 perform from 1pm -2
- Walter Hayward Sr plays from 2-2:30pm
- Speakeasy with Mark Frazer, Mike Caruso and Dewey Veer go on from 3-4pm
- Jeff Goins and Terry Nugent with Big Dirty finish up the fun Blues Fest playing 4-5pm.
The best part, the event is completely Free and open to the public.

Come out to the Stephenson County Fairgrounds Saturday October 1st for this Rockford-Freeport Illinois Kennel Club held dog show. The Rockford Freeport Kennel Club is an all breed club licensed by the American Kennel Club (AKC) whose purpose is to further the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs and to protect and advance the interests of purebred dogs through the encouragement of training, fostering and encouraging sportsmanlike competition at shows, exhibits and matches, dissemination of knowledge, and information to the general public.

Come enjoy am Aquin and city of Freeport tradition at the 2016 Homecoming Parade & Coronation. Aquin Schools will be celebrating Homecoming 2016 beginning Sunday, October 2 and running through Saturday, October 3. This year’s theme is ‘The Wonderful World of Aquin’. Aquin’s Annual Homecoming Parade will be held on Sunday, October 2 at 3:00pm with line-up starting at 2:30pm. The parade will end at the Aquin High School parking lot. The parade starts on Walnut by Pleasant and Washington streets.
