This is the second annual Chase the Chill event for Freeport. We are in need of volunteers to help hang mittens gloves scarves and hats. There will be a couple designated areas in Freeport that we will be distributing these warm items. We are needing volunteers to help us hang these warm items on tree limbs, poles. fences and so forth.

6. Family Winter Hike: Animal Tracks and Scat Saturday, January 14
Juliet Moderow will lead a winter hike to search for signs of wildlife. We will look for animal tracks, scat, and other signs of animals that live at Oakdale. Dress appropriately for the weather including footwear that protects your feet from snow. Kids of all ages and their families are welcome! Sign-ups are encouraged – contact leader Juliet at 201-233-0946. Parents – plan ahead by bringing newspapers for your cars…muddy boot warning. Dress for weather – 20-30 degrees.

3. 7th Annual King Classic Scratch Tourney
The Ritchie Buss Memorial Tournament – The King Classic – is set to hit the lanes on January 15, 2017. This 7th Annual event is one of the premier events in Northwest Illinois as bowlers from the entire region take to the lanes to win the coveted prize and trophy, all while remembering one of the best bowlers, quality person, PBA Champion… Ritchie Buss. $555.55 is the GUARANTEED 1st place although this prize has exceeded this amount every year due to the large turn-out. 8 Games of competition, cut to the Top 5 for a TV Stepladder finals. Entry fee is $55 and 1:5 will cash. This event is sponsored by The 4 Seasons and the Freeport Bowling Association and have $500.00 in added prize dollars.
