Stephenson County, Illinois — July 31, 2017 — 100 Women Who Care of Stephenson County has recently announced their next quarterly meeting to be held in Freeport, Illinois. 100 Women Who Care of Stephenson County is a group of local women who are interested in supporting the local communities within Stephenson County with a goal of donating $10,000 to a local charity in 1 hour, 4 times a year.
In their first year 100 Women Who Care of Stephenson County has raised $23,400 which went directly to Stephenson County Organizations.
Their next meeting coming up is scheduled for August 10th starting at 5:30 p.m.. The group will meet at the Wagner House located at 1 E. Spring St. in downtown Freeport.
Members each donate $100 to a local non-profit organization/charity chosen by a ballot vote. 100 members donating $100 each equals $10,000 given to a local charity. The group meets for one hour, four times a year and each member brings a check for $100 to each meeting. Members nominate organizations to be put into a hat.
Of those organizations, three of them are drawn at random at each meeting. Nominating members each make a 5-minute presentation about the organizations and the entire group votes on which cause to support. The organization with the most votes then, receives our donations.
Checks are made out directly to that organization on the spot.
If this sounds like something you would be interested in being a part of, come to the Wagner House on August 10th, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. for social hour, or 6:30 p.m. for the actual meeting.
