“Y” Mardi Gras? Here’s Y

FREEPORT, ILLINOIS — The Family YMCA of Northwest Illinois is not shy to celebrating with events making a difference in the community. The annual occurrence of Mardi Gras is an occasion for staff, donors, and members to unite in rememberance of influencing families and individuals through financial contributions and tangible resources.

The marketing department strategically organizes Mardi Gras in alignment with the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Guests of this event have interacted with the “Y” as a personal investment to give back into the community. The YMCA was established to equip people to pursue a healthy lifestyle in spirit, mind, and body. Throughout the development of the “Y” and numerous community partnerships, this non-profit organization is practically and relationally transforming the region.

“The Mardi Gras is a unique event because not only does it provide opportunity for community members to give back, but it also creates an opportunity to celebrate what we have already accomplished as a community. The YMCA will always represent the ‘Us’ that works so hard to strengthen our society.”

Mardi Gras is the time where Community Partners are honored for their investment and thanked for their contributions. On February 23, 2019 at the Grand River Hall, guests will come together to celebrate this occasion.

Tickets are now on sale for $38/person, $65/couple, or $270/table of eight. Purchases can be made at the front desk in the YMCA or online at https://www.freeportymca.org/program-registration. The event will feature the following: silent auction, 50/50 raffle, Mr. Ed live band, Twisted by Time escape room, dessert auction, a photo booth, and more!
