5th Biennial Mini Masterpieces Fundraising Exhibition Opens at Freeport Art Museum

FREEPORT, ILLINOIS — Back by popular demand, Mini Masterpieces is coming to the Freeport Art Museum. Over fifty local, regional, and international artists have signed up to donate works measuring 6 x 6 inches for this unique
fundraising exhibition. Held biennially, Mini Masterpieces challenges artists to create miniature works in a wide
variety of media from painting and photography to sculpture and mixed media.

The opening reception is a ticketed event featuring appetizers, wines and a competitive silent auction. Opening bids
for each miniature starts at $25 and most of the works sell before the auction closes at 7:30 pm. This exhibition is
designed to encourage the purchase and appreciation of original art work at affordable prices and all proceeds will
benefit the Freeport Art Museum.

Works are displayed within the main exhibition galleries and all pieces will remain on display until the exhibition
closes at 5pm on 3rd of August, after which all bid winners will be able to pick-up their purchases.

This one-of-kind event is open to the public. Tickets are $10 and are available online at www.freeportartmuseum.org and at the door. Please call the Freeport Art Museum at (815)235-9755 for more information. The Mini Masterpiece Exhibition will open Friday, May 31, 2019 and run through August 3rd, 2019.
