CARROLL COUNTY, ILLINOIS — The Carroll County Health Department issued a press release today announcing they have their first COVID-19 case in Carroll County, Illinois. The individual is an adult and in their 40’s.
“Our health department is working closely with the Illinois Department of Public Health (MPH) and continues to monitor the Mdividual, that has been self-quarantined for 12 days, and their close contacts”, the Health Department said. “Further details about the individual will not be released to protect the privacy of the Individual and their family.”
While the investigation is ongoing, the Carroll County Health Department said they are aware the case is related to travel. “This case reinforces the importance of actions the public can take to protect themselves and prevent the spread in the community”, they said.
What the Public Can Do
• STAY CALM: You are not alone In this: your community is here to support you. Talk to your friends and family, and let them know if you are having concerns.
• STAY APART: Keep at least 6 feet away from others.
• STAY PUT: Slay home. and only go out when essential (buying groceries, pickup medicine, etc.).
Be mindful of those who are at greater risk far contracting this virus. including older adults and those with underlying conditions.
Call your healthcare provider:
If you experience fever, cough, and shortness of breath (flu like symptoms), stay home, and call your healthcare provider before going to a healthcare facility. Inform them of your symptoms.
