FREEPORT, ILLINOIS — The Freeport Ministerial Fellowship Alliance and the Freeport Clergy Group issued a press release stating that the groups remain diligent in monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic, and responding to the community needs in Freeport through the member congregations.
The groups will gather for an outdoor “Safe-Distancing” Prayer Circle for the Coronavirus pandemic on Saturday, May 16, 2020, beginning at 9:00 am at the King Community Campus parking lot.
Representing many faith communities in Freeport, the group says pastors and community leaders will demonstrate appropriate use of masks and disposable gloves, while maintaining six-foot distance in keeping with the CDC/IDPH guidelines.
“As a faith-filled response to the Coronavirus pandemic, prayers will be offered for the health and safety of our community; the care given by our healthcare professionals; the healing of the ill; and the continued vigilance in flattening the viral infection curve”, the group said in their press release.
Following the first prayer circle, the group will travel to other venues across Freeport and continue in prayer, they said.
“The Ministerial Fellowship Alliance and Clergy Group encourages the entire Freeport community to share in this time of prayer. Please join in praying at your home and honor the “Stay-at-home” order.”
