After 18 years of service to Freeport Park District, including 16 years as Executive Director, Jack Carey is retiring. Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Carey led the District through many park enhancement projects including Read Park Ball Field Complex and expansion of multi-use paths throughout the park system.

He was a tremendous help when I was elected to serve on the Park Board of Commissioners in 2011, said Debbie Schwartz, President of the Park Board of Commissioners. “I’ve had the opportunity to work with Ron for many years and he will provide the leadership and smooth transition we need as the Park District moves forward,” she said.
