FREEPORT, ILLINOIS — After three years of service in the Freeport community Salvation Army of Freeport Captains Jim and Lee Brickson are relocating.
The organization announced on Wednesday the Brickson’s will be moving to take charge of the Army’s work in International Falls Minnesota.
“The Bricksons have accomplished many tasks here in Stephenson County since their arrival” a press release said. “Some notable accomplishments include establishing a Emergency Disaster hub in Stephenson County serving the northeastern counties of Illinois, realigning long term services and programs to include community networking and collaboration.”
Captain Jim Brickson said the new collaboration with Golden Meals has showed Freeport that “collaboration can work”. The Salvation Army in Freeport said they are now serving more residents than ever before with less expense and risk to the overall programs provided.
“The residents of Freeport and the great friendships that have been made will be missed”, Captain Lee Brickson said.
“Freeport is nothing like I thought it was and more than I could have hope for, moving is very hard”
