Stephenson County Sheriff’s Make Arrest in Davis Knife Throwing Incident

Stephenson County, Illinois — The Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office released information last week regarding a January 12th incident where a man is alleged to have thrown a knife at the head of a woman in Davis, Illinois.

According to the release, Stephenson County Sheriff’s were dispatched to 703 Westmore Road, Davis, Illinois regarding a domestic disturbance.

The release states that the alleged victim was trying to move out of the residence and had her children there to assist her. Sheriff’s Office state that started the altercation where it’s alleged the suspect threw a knife at the head of the victim and then pointed a firearm at the victims. The victims then called the Sheriff’s Office, according to the release.

The Sheriff’s Office state they attempted to make contact with the suspect but were unsuccessful. The Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team was called in and later took suspect, Thomas Edwards, into custody without further incident.

Edwards was charged with Domestic Battery and Aggravated Assault, and is housed at the Stephenson County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.

The Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Illinois State Police, The Illinois State Conservation Police, and Tri-District ambulance.

The investigation is continuing and according to the release, other charges may possibly be filed.
