Freeport, Illinois — United Way of Northwest Illinois will embark on a search for a new Executive Director in the near future. Tiffany Nieman is leaving the position that she assumed in March 2013, as United Way of Northwest Illinois’ Executive Director.
Nieman stated, “I will always consider my time at the United Way of Northwest Illinois as one of the most rewarding and fulfilling experiences.” In addition, Nieman stated, “I am extremely proud to have worked with the diverse staff, volunteers, agencies, donors, and community stakeholders to bring growth and change to the United Way. From the work related transportation program, to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, to the collaborative work done with the All Our Kids Network, it is easy to see the growing impact that United Way is having in the local community, and I feel good to know that in some small way, I was a part of that.”
Nieman is leaving the United Way for a career advancement opportunity in Northwest Illinois, but plans to assist the Board of Directors and the organization in a limited capacity until a new Director can be found. Chris Shockey, United Way Board Chair, said, “the United Way is an important organization and the people of this community recognize the critical role that it plays in mobilizing resources in the fight for education, financial stability, and health of every person in Northwest Illinois. The Board of Directors is committed to finding the right leader to ensure the great work being done by the United Way of Northwest Illinois not only continues but grows.”
The Board of Directors is looking to name an Interim Director to work in partnership with Nieman during the transition. For information about the United Way of Northwest Illinois, please call 815-232-5184 or online at www.uwni.org
