Janesville and Beloit Police Honor 14 Year Old Teen For Saving Friends Life

Janesville, Wisconsin — WKOW out of Janesville reports that a local teen is being honored as a hero after authorities say she saw something, and then said something.

It was a Snapchat post sent to 30 teens, but it startled one 14-year-old girl so much she knew she had to do something.

Hailey Terry is like any ordinary teen, but it’s her extraordinary actions that are being praised.

“I’m very proud, a very proud parent,” said her mother, Susan Terry, as she smiled.

Hailey was walking home from school in Janesville a few weeks back when she received a Snapchat from her best friend in Beloit.

“I started freaking out because I didn’t know what to do,” Hailey said.

The shocking reaction came after she opened the Snapchat that was a picture of her best friend’s hand filled with pills. The photo was captioned, “Bye.”

“It was just really scary because I didn’t know if she actually took the pills or not,” she said.

Not wasting any time, Hailey and a relative notified Beloit police. They asked her and her relative to drive down to the police station with the screenshots of the pictures.
