FREEPORT, ILLINOIS — The Freeport Noon Rotary Club will meet using Zoom technology at noon on Monday, Oct. 19. The local club meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at noon through Zoom technology. The guest speaker will be Sharon Koch from the League of Women Voters to discuss staying safe while voting during the pandemic.
Koch is a retired Freeport Senior High School English teacher and also has taught at Highland Community College, Aquin and Dakota districts. She has been with the League of Women Voters for 13 years, including six years as Voter Services Chair and on the Executive Team for four years. She founded the Voter Registration Coalition in 2016 and is a member of the Shakespeare Book Club and International Studies group.
Married to Gary for more than 50 years, they love spending time with their three grown children and four grandchildren. When not active in serving her community and family, Sharon enjoys reading, running and traveling.
Freeport Rotary Club was established in 1919 to provide service to others and promote integrity through fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. The Club participates in local services projects targeting youth literacy, scholarly recognition, student international exchange, and purchasing shoes for disadvantaged youth.
