Freeport, Illinois – Brad Hartog, a lifelong Freeport resident and IL Certified Real Estate Appraiser, declared his candidacy for the Freeport Township Assessor for the upcoming 2017 municipal election. Mr. Hartog personally collected and turned in over 200 signatures on candidacy petitions for Township Assessor on Monday morning under the Citizens party.

I have received a tremendous amount of positive feedback from the residents and business owners of Freeport who want to bring private sector understanding and experience to the office.”
Mr. Hartog is a graduate of Freeport High School and a graduate of Highland College with a degree in business administration. Brad began working for Friedenbach & Associates as an apprentice in 2007 while attending classes at the Appraisal Institute in Chicago.
Mr. Hartog attained the Senior Residential Appraiser (SRA) and Residential Review Specialist (AI-RRS) designations from the Appraisal Institute, and he is the only appraiser in Stephenson County to hold these designations.
Since 2014, Brad has been employed full time with Midwest Community Bank as a Review Appraiser and Underwriter.

Brad and his wife, Jen, have been married for 19 years, are blessed with a 9-year-old son, and are active members of Park Hills Church.
In addition, Brad currently serves as Chairman on the Stephenson County Property Assessment Appeal Board of Review and as Secretary on the Freeport Water & Sewer Commission.
