I am writing today to the voters of Highland Community College District 519 in support of Pennie Groezinger for the Board of Trustees. As a 6th generation Jo Daviess County resident, born and raised on a dairy farm outside of Elizabeth, she now lives in Stockton with her husband, Daryl, and their son, Drew, where their Northwest Designs Glass Studio is located. She is invested in NW Illinois!
Her business and community development skills can be seen by her 3-year term as a Council Member of the U. of IL. Extension Council – Jo Daviess, Carroll and Winnebago Counties; service as Trustee for Ward’s Grove Township, and as a charter member of Stockton Strong community development organization. She is also an active volunteer with youth development groups including 4-H, Future Farmers of America, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and her Church’s Youth Group.
With 30 years of business experience at Pearl City Elevator, Pennie currently serves on their Management Team as Human Resources and Credit Manager. She recognizes the need for strong, skills-based employees for area businesses. Pennie is among the group of local agribusiness professionals who over the past few years have helped to expand HCC’s Agriculture Department. During this time period, Highland Community College has also added skills-based Curricula including Criminal Justice, Mass Communications, and Hospitality, as well as Life-Long Learning Programs.
“One of the greatest life lessons I have learned,” Pennie says, “Is the importance of working together – to address challenges, to embrace changes and to develop something greater. It starts with each of us, working together.”
That’s why I encourage you to cast your vote for Pennie Groezinger on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
