U.S. House Debate & Vote on Impeachment Inquiry Resolution

The House debated and voted on a resolution October 31, 2019 that lays out the next steps in the impeachment investigation of President Trump, including public hearings, and rights for the President and minority party.

The House of Representatives voted to approve the rules governing the next steps in the impeachment inquiry, ushering in a new phase of the investigation. The vote was 232 to 196, with two Democrats joining all Republicans in voting against passage.
