City of Freeport Declares Snow Emergency Effective February 9th

Freeport, Illinois — According to the Freeport Public Works department, the City of Freeport is declaring Snow Emergency effective February 9th, 8am. Public Works says the winter parking regulations will be in effect for 48 hours following the start of the declaration.

A Snow Emergency means that even/odd parking starts at 8:00 A.M. therefore, tomorrow (February 9th) after 8:00 A.M. vehicles parked on the street should be parked on the ODD numbered side only.


According to a city of Freeport ordinance, when a snow event has been declared, no person shall leave parked or standing any motor vehicle on the “even-numbered” side of a street in the City on an “odd-numbered” day of the month.
