Springfield, Illinois – Paul R. Koerner, President and CEO of Koerner Distributor, Inc. in Effingham, Carterville, and President and CEO of Orange & Blue Distributing Company, Inc. in Champaign, Illinois, was presented with the Cathryn Hartman Lydon Community Commitment Award at the Associated Beer Distributors of Illinois 77th Annual Convention held at the Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Normal, Illinois, which was attended by over 100 industry professionals.
After receiving his degree in Finance from Southern Illinois University and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from St. Louis University, Paul accepted a position with a bank holding company in St. Louis. With his extensive financial training, he joined Koerner Distributor, Inc. in 1984, and became the President in 1990 and has managed the company on a day-to-day basis ever since.
Mr. Koerner is a past President of the Associated Beer Distributors of Illinois’ Board of Directors and Executive Committee. He is a past Mautino Industry Service Award recipient. He currently represents the state of Illinois on the National Beer Wholesalers Association Board of Directors. He has been president of both the Effingham Country Club and the United Way.
He has participated in many activities in the Effingham community such as the City of Effingham Community Support Group, and many church related activities. He is on the Board of Directors of the Washington Savings Bank, Tingley Insurance Agency, Lake Sara Marina, and is the immediate past chair of the Effingham County Economic Development Foundation
The award is named in memory of Cathryn Hartman Lydon, Hartman Beverage in Freeport, Illinois, who passed away in October 2013.
The Associated Beer Distributors of Illinois, a not for profit business trade association, represents, maintains, and improves the interests of its Members who distribute beer of all brewers.
