Early Morning Downtown Fire In Freeport’s Billerbeck Building Claims One

Freeport, Illinois — September 1, 2017 — Shortly after 6:00 a.m. this morning fire broke out in the Billerbeck building located in downtown Freeport, Illinois. A total of four people were victims of the fire, one of which lost their life due to the blaze.

The low-rise building has 4 floors and was constructed in the year 1888. The building sits on the corner of Main Street and Galena Avenue. Freeport Fire Chief Scott Miller provides an update.
