Freeport Community Foundation Awards $1,000 To Winneshiek Playhouse From Ian Murphy-Mitchard Fund for Music & Arts

FREEPORT, IL. – October 31, 2017 – The Freeport Community Foundation recently awarded a $1,000.00 grant from the Ian Murphy-Mitchard Fund for Music & Arts to the Winneshiek Playhouse for lighting upgrades.

This fund was established by Ian’s mother Marilee Murphy Odendahl and step-father Ted Odendahl.  Ian passionately believed in supporting artists and this fund was established in his memory by his friends and family.  This fund supports non-profit organizations located in Stephenson County that encourage artistic expression.    Any individual or group can donate to the Ian Murphy-Mitchard Fund for Music & Arts by contacting the Foundation.

The Freeport Community Foundation has a 42-year history as a community-based charitable organization guided by community leaders dedicated to providing financial solutions for current and future community needs. 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organizations from Northwest Illinois and the surrounding communities are eligible to receive funding.
