Freeport Community Public School Fund Receives $12,600 From 100 Women Who Care

Freeport, Illinois — Congratulations to the Freeport Community Public School Fund (FCPSF) on being the May 2018 recipient of member donations! We were honored to present board members with cash and checks totaling $12,600 last week.

Since 1983 the FCPSF has purchased several non-consumable materials and equipment for every school and every subject area in grades K-12. These have been valuable learning tools for which there was no other funding available.

Each year District #145 educators submit requests for items, and the FCPSF determines which requests can be funded with available monies. With this recent donation, the fund will be able to grant many more requests that will enrich and enhance the education of the Freeport community’s children.

Examples of past purchases include: thousands of books for classrooms and libraries, science equipment, music instruments, math manipulatives, reading skill-building activities, support for the World Arts Festival, maps and globes, novel sets, art display racks, physical education equipment, classroom sets of scientific calculators, listening stations for K-4 classes, and video equipment for high school broadcasting classes.

You can learn more about the Freeport Community Public School fund by going to their website: or checking out their Facebook page under the same name.

Congratulations once again and thank you to all the members making these donations possible. Your support of Stephenson County and those living within Stephenson County is absolutely wonderful.
