Freeport, Illinois — The Freeport Community Foundation announced today that Michelle DeHaven has been appointed as its new Executive Director.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Michelle served as Development Manager for the March of Dimes Northwest Illinois market. She has a strong non-profit background, having worked in various marketing, communications, and fundraising roles with March of Dimes, Arthritis Foundation, Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, Discovery Center Museum, and the former Rockford Professional Baseball Class A Minor League Teams Rockford Cubbies and Rockford Royals. Michelle began her career in Freeport as a part of the (Freeport) Journal-Standard editorial staff.
Outgoing Executive Director Dan Schmitt welcomed Michelle. “I am confident that Michelle will continue to build the Foundation’s donor base and grant making capabilities. She has a great non-profit and fund development background that will serve her well.”
A native of Dakota, Michelle resides in Rockford with her husband, Bruce Quast. She has two grown stepsons, Matthew (wife Amanda and six-year-old daughter Natalee) of Grove City, PA, and Samuel (wife Faith) of Reno, NV.
