Regional Electronics And Fluorescent Lamp Recycling Options

Freeport, Illinois — As you may or may not know, as of January 1st, 2012, the Electronic Products Recycling and Reuse Public Act 97-287 prohibited the disposal of e-waste (electronics) into landfills. Therefore most disposal companies no longer collect e-waste or serve as a drop-off location.

Upon getting numerous requests regarding electronic equipment disposal, we partnered with Moring Disposal to provide you with the below list of businesses who offer options for electronic item disposal.

The first section gives a great option for donation, followed by local electronic recycling options. For further information, click either of the following links to go to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (ILEPA) website for information: ILEPA – Electronic Waste Recycling or ILEPA – Fluorescent Lamp Recycling.

From what I see there is no place in Stephenson county for residents to recycle old TV sets.

Any easy way to get rid of furniture? I called Gill with no response. Morning wouldn’t take it. They referred me to the old transfer station on Walnut. $35 to get rid of a small ottoman. No wonder people illegal dump. How about a recycle day for old furniture!
