Stephenson County Sheriff Says Even The Little Citizens Matter

Freeport, Illinois — During a routine stop earlier today the Stephenson County Sheriff reported that a Deputy serving papers in Freeport’s third ward area spotted a Saw-Whet Owl.

The Deputy noticed that the Owl was surrounded by a pack of hungry Crows.

Knowing the situation was dire for the Owl, the Deputy scared off the Crows and took the Owl away from the situation. The Deputy then brought the Owl to Hoo Haven in Durand, IL for treatment.

Saw-Whet Owls only stand about 7 inches tall.

Even the little citizens need help too.
