Two ‘Well Dressed’ Men Reported Seen In Freeport Attempting To Scam People

Freeport, Illinois — Parkview homes in Freeport stated on their Facebook page earlier today that they have heard reports of a potential scam happening in Freeport.

According to their post, two well-dressed men have been hanging around the poorer neighborhoods, including at least one food bank area in Freeport to “inform” people that they are eligible for a free cell phone from the current Presidential Administration.

It was stated that these men are requesting and have received people’s social security numbers, driver’s license numbers along with other private information.

As always, beware of anyone asking for personal information from you. If anyone hears or sees anything like this going on, please call the Freeport Police at 815-235-8222.

We would gather as much of a description of the individuals as we could, find any paperwork, numbers, names, company names and anything they said to you that indicates where they came from or who they work for and we would phone the police.
