Do you follow Freeport city government closely? Do you keep an eye on things being done, decisions made, money spent or saved, work done in the city and outcomes of city plans?
Do you find you are often discussing politics with colleagues, friends, family or others? Do you find your discussions or arguments are rational, and that you are able to formulate a good point or debate relative to city government procedures?
We'd like to bring that current 'up-to-date' city government discussion to the citizens of Freeport with a panel of 4-5 individuals, from varying political beliefs, for a special segment we'd like to air all about discussing Freeport city government. In the show we would cover current city government agenda items, development plans and activities, money, infrastructure, community efforts and any one of a variety of topics, including the good, the great and the issues of the day.
— The show / segment would air either once a week, bi-weekly or monthly depending on everyone's commitment.
— Special guests would be invited each episode, (or most) to answer questions, talk or just join in a fun lively discussion.
— Filmed as more of a relaxed talk show environment, the discussion panel would introduce the topics of the week, and then discuss them in more detail one by one.
— A show might consist of a number of topics, or one, or just a few depending on a number of factors, mainly public interest, second to depth of a discussion of a topic. Some things are more interesting, important and just need more explanation.
The final show would be slated for 30 minutes in length and the public would be invited into the discussion when it airs. Time commitment might be an hour to an hour and a half to film each episode.
We'll take care of all the filming, production and airing of the segment to our viewers in a nice, professionally done show. It will be a moderated, structured, civil, yet open to debate discussion about local city government.
The overall tone of the show is to be an informative, lively talk that encourages people to learn and gain a deeper understanding from varied (or agreed) viewpoints, along with encouraging people who tune in to become more active. We'll setup a make-shift studio at one of our local area businesses. They'd be happy to have us.
If this sounds like something that would interest you, get in contact with us. We'd like to at least have a discussion about the possibility for a show like this with those who might have some interest.
Thank you. ... See MoreSee Less
Who would conduct the discussion and get city officials to talk? They have not been very forthcoming so far.
