Freeport, Illinois – How well does the Freeport School District communicate with you?
That’s what the district is asking through a brief survey about its communication effectiveness.
The survey, which is aimed at parents or guardians of FSD students and other Freeport community members, is available online now at the district website: www.fsd145.org.
All answers are confidential and anonymous. The survey will be open until 5 PM on October 31, 2016.
The purpose of the survey is two-fold: to measure the effectiveness of the district’s communication with its stakeholders, and to let people know that their concerns and opinions are being heard and are valued. The effort is also part of the district’s continued work to fulfil the goals set out in its Strategic Plan, the third of which focuses on communication, stating: “Family and community relationships will be cultivated, sustained, and strengthened through timely and transparent communication.” The results of the survey will form a baseline which the district will use to inform and track its communication progress over the next several years.
“Parent and community support are central to the success of our school district,” says Dr. Mike Schiffman, FSD Superintendent. “A big part of gaining that support is ensuring parents and community members are informed and equipped to participate in and encourage the education of our students. We ask that everyone take this survey to help us continually improve in this area.”
Everyone’s opinion is important. If you do not have online access, but would like to complete the survey, request a paper copy by visiting the FSD administration building at 501 E. South Street, calling Jesse Johnson at 815-801-0109, or sending a request to:
