Freeport, Illinois — Tip of The Day. The following ABC report is of an Aurora, Illinois family.
According to the report, 8-year-old Caden saved his mother and his dog’s life after he called 911 when the two fell into an icy pond this past weekend.
When walking on ice;
- Take smaller steps. This is a good lesson to apply whenever you walk but especially when walking on ice.
- Walk or lean slightly forward. The slightest hinge at the hips will work wonders for making your way through the winter months safely.
- Do the slow shuffle. If you can’t bring yourself to do the Penguin, keep feet about a foot apart, and take small, shuffling steps, aligning your feet after each step. Keep your pace slow.
