Freeport, Illinois — Numerous area residents are talking about an alleged event that is said to be an attempted murder and attempted suicide in Freeport, Illinois.
Reports of crime scene tape in the Greenfield / Winchester drive area in Freeport have area residents alleging that a man who is being convicted of rape on a woman who is disabled, went home and stabbed his wife, then slit his own throat.
Residents claim to have seen two helicopters go to and leave from Freeport Memorial on the morning of December 18th, 2016.
Neighbors and those close to the situation have stated that a man, who is unknown at this time, was recently released from jail possibly the night prior or on the morning of December 18th, 2016.
It is alleged that he went home after being released and shortly thereafter stabbed his wife ten times. The man is said to have then slit is own throat in what is being alleged by residents as an attempted suicide.
Reports that we have obtained thusfar state that the woman is currently in protective custody. We do not know the victims current condition at this time.
It is being said that the man called 9-11 .
