Freeport, Illinois — We’ve received numerous reports of an alleged incident said to have taken place at the Mobil Central by Freeport High School this past Thursday evening.

Reports of the Mobil gas station being robbed came in from numerous sources, along with reports of police activity by Circle K located on Galena and West.

On December 21 at 8:37 pm one person stated, “Someone just robbed Mobil”. Another at 8:42 pm said, “Bunch of police presence at Mobil Central and all the lights are turned down”.

At or around that same time others also noticed a police presence at the Circle K.

“There was a huge police presence at the Circle K as well. We drove past as quickly as possible”, one person said. Another said they noticed 4 squad cars with their lights going by Circle K.

While we don’t have a lot of details at this time relating to either incident, the Mobil gas station by Freeport High School has seen numerous incidents the past year.

Just recently in September of 2017, one person masking his face with a cloth robbed the Mobil gas station located by the High School.

We will update this story with additional details as we get them. Please be alert, aware and stay safe when out and about.
