[sg_popup id=1]Freeport, Illinois — This past Saturday in Freeport teams from as far away as North Carolina came to Freeport’s Little Cubs Field to participate in a Blitzball tournament put on by the Blitzball organization in which proceeds went to help the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation.
Blitzball is a new wiffle ball of sorts, made by the company College Hill Games. Blitzball was invented by a “baseball toy inventor’ who researched on different techniques including scratching and denting and experimented with different materials to create a ball with significantly more curve and velocity that promises twice the distance as well as twice the curves of a baseball.
Blitzball is like a wiffle ball on steroids, users say.
“Anyone can make the Blitzball curve, slide and sink. That makes it great fun for everyone and all ages. Its nearly impossible to hit, yet it is still fun to get a game going with your buddies.”
Denny Garkey, the founder of Little Cubs Field explains the events of the day.
