Freeport, Ill. – Freeport Downtown Development Foundation (FDDF) made two $100 donations this week to the Winneshiek Theatre and Mother Hubbard’s Kiddie Cupboard, both downtown not for profits.
The donation was made possible by proceeds of the 2015 Mistletoe Walk event in downtown Freeport. FDDF’s executive director Danielle Rogers said, “It’s always a good feeling to be able to give back to the community because of one of our event’s success. These donations wouldn’t have been possible without the participation of downtown Freeport businesses in the Mistletoe Walk. We thank them.”
FDDF would like to thank the Mistletoe Walk chair, Michelle Kavran, for her hard work and dedication in putting the entire event together. Several hundred shoppers were in attendance and it was a huge success.
Freeport’s downtown is the core of the economic health of the city. With over 200 businesses, it is FDDF’s goal that the downtown district be a prime place to live, work and shop. Interested volunteers can contact the office at 815-232-9000.
