Freeport, Illinois — September 5, 2017 — You’ve heard us say for years that there’s an abundance of talented people in the area we are so fortunate to live in. Rock n roll legends, actors, makeup artists, TV network pioneers, famous football legends and the list goes on and on.
Here yet again, is another story of a few more talented people right in Freeport, doing some pretty big ‘national’ things.
The local progressive punk metal band out of Freeport, Illinois, Blackcat Manor says they are just blown away at the news that one of their songs will be played on the popular television show American Horror Story. The group says the song “Hellfire” will appear in tonight’s Season 7 premiere.
“As of right now we’re not sure what parts or parts of the song they are going to use”, band member Jake Kayes told us. “Just really excited to be a part of an iconic series”, he says.
The band says like so many other things in life, “it’s all who you know” and told us the opportunity to be in a series show came about through a friend of theirs wife. Jake said his connection to the show gave creator of the series Ryan Murphy some of the bands music.
Jake says, “he dug it”.
The band says their song made it through to the final cut of the premiere and they couldn’t feel more honored. As far as when exactly in the show you will be able to hear the song, Jake says that news is all hush hush.
“We do know where it will be played but we have been sworn to secrecy”, he told us. “it’s all part of the game”, Jake says.
“Blackcat is grateful and eager to have a step in the direction we have been working for and above all, we are glad that fans that have been with us for the last 5 years and are going to be able to share this with us.
You can watch the season premiere of American Horror Story tonight at 9:00 p.m. CT on FX.
Blackcat Manor’s song “Hellfire” is the opening track on the band’s 2016 EP, Relentless. You can listen to the song Hellfire here.
