Freeport Native Troy Hepler Who Went Missing In Tennessee, Passes Away

troy-heplerNashville, TN – It is with great sadness we bring you the news of Troy Hepler. On June 10, 2016 family and those close to Troy reported him missing from his home in Nashville. According to reports, Troy left his house on foot around Noon on June 10, 2016 without his phone. The family contacted authorities and immediately went on a search to locate him.

According to Troy’s Facebook page, Troy was passionate about sound, stating, “every aspect of creating sound weather it be music to jam to or effects to a compelling movie fight scene.  Sound is what I do”, he stated”. Troy worked for Clair Global and was from Dakota, although had many friends in Freeport.

While family and friends reached out to everyone and anyone they knew to help find Troy, on June 12, the family reported that Troy was found this morning with sad news that followed. Troy had passed away.

At this time we don’t have details as to why Troy disappeared or the exact cause and manner of Troy’s passing. The family thanks everyone for their support and has stated that services are being arranged and that they will share more when we have further information.

For those who knew Troy and for the family and friends here in Stephenson County and at his home in Tennessee, our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time of grieving.

I think it’s worth noting that while Troy was very active in Freeport, He was a graduate of Dakota High School and was loved by many in the surrounding areas.

From the presentation of the info so far, it seems very likely this was a suicide.
