Freeport Police: 53 Vehicles Cited for 24-hour Parking Violations in Freeport

Freeport, Illinois — The Freeport Police announced today that since 8:00 am on Tuesday until 8:30 a.m. Wednesday there have been 53 vehicles cited for 24-hour parking violations.

According to ordinance 480.04 the city can fine any vehicle parked in the same spot for more than a 24 hour period. According to the city’s website the fine is $20.00 if paid in 5 days and $40.00 if paid after 5 days.

The Freeport Police would like to remind residents that no person shall park a vehicle on any street for longer than 24 consecutive hours.
