Freeport, Illinois – At its regular meeting held Tuesday evening in the Freeport Middle School Conference Room, the Freeport School District Board of Education:
● Received an update on the SITE (Students in Transitional Education) and FAHS (Freeport Alternative High School) programs. Associate Principal of Alternative Programming Dana Dinderman discussed the new Positive Behavior Interventions & Support programming and incentive program at the SITE building, as well as facility changes there. She shared the progress of these programs and their impact for students in the district.
● Approved new or revised job descriptions for the positions of School Counselor and Transportation Secretary.
The public is always invited and encouraged to attend Freeport School District Board of Education meetings. The next scheduled regular meeting will be held Tuesday, October 18th at 6:00 PM at the Freeport Middle School Conference Room, located at 701 W. Empire Street.
In addition, with school board elections approaching in April 2017, school board candidates are now able to circulate nominating petitions. The candidate filing period takes place Dec. 12-19. The responsibilities of school board elections are handled by the County Clerk.
