Freeport, Illinois – According to the Freeport School District website, at the June 21st, 2016 board meeting, the FSD145 Board of Education voted to keep the current Uniformity of Dress policy in place for the 2016-2017 school year.
Bottoms such as slacks, shorts, skirts, skorts and jumpers must be plain and solid colored in navy blue, black or tan/khaki. Styles can be flat front or pleated. No cargo styles are allowed. Shirts must be collared & solid colored polo or oxford style. Sleeveless shirts are now allowed as well, but must still have a collar. Accepted district-wide shirt colors include white, light blue, navy blue, black, and grey. Each school also has one additional color choice for shirts:
Carl Sandburg Middle School & Freeport Middle School – orange
Blackhawk – pink
Jones-Farrar – green
Freeport High School
- Shirt colors are black, white, orange, grey, and navy blue.
- Light blue is not a shirt color for the high school.
- Small brand logos are now ok to wear, such as Columbia and Northface.
In addition, the district wishes to also remind parents and students that no denim or cargo style shorts or pants are allowed. The current policy regarding logos allows each school to approve upper left chest logos as well as small brand logos no larger than three inches.
