Knock, Knock It’s The Police – We Saw Your Facebook LIVE Video

Freeport, Illinois — Freeport Police have released information regarding an arrest of a person caught, while streaming LIVE on Facebook.

According to Freeport Police, on January 8th, 2018 at approximately 1:00pm, a Freeport Police Department Detective, who was monitoring the Internet for open-source intelligence (OSINT), located a Facebook Live video stream depicting a male subject who was recognized to be Jalen Anderson.

The Freeport Police Department said they had been previously notified on 12-29-17 that Jalen Anderson was wanted for the offense of Armed Robbery by the Harvey Illinois Police Department.

According to police, while a Freeport Police Department Detective was watching Jalen Anderson on Facebook Live, Jalen Anderson was observed to be in possession of a loaded handgun and suspected illegal drugs. Based on their observations of the Facebook Live video feed, Detectives believed that Jalen Anderson was streaming his video from an apartment located in the 2500 block of Stephenson Circle in Freeport.

Freeport Police Officers and Detectives quickly mobilized and responded to the location where Jalen Anderson was believed to be streaming the Facebook Live video, and Anderson was located and arrested without incident.

Jalen Anderson’s Facebook Live video continued to stream inside the apartment while Freeport Police Officers were arresting him at the front door.

After Jalen Anderson was taken into custody on the outstanding Harvey Illinois Police Department arrest warrant, the apartment was secured by Police while a search warrant was obtained. During the execution of the search warrant a loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol and nine pills containing suspected Alprazolam (Xanax) were located.
