Freeport, Illinois — Well, anyone who was wishing for snow just had their wishes come true this afternoon because it’s snowing like crazy in Freeport, Illinois.
The snow fall expected to hit has arrived and all told we’re looking at under an inch when it’s all said and done.
Snowfall started today around 1:30 this afternoon and is expected to last until around 5:00 p.m. We think it’s safe to say this is our Official 1st snowfall of the winter season in Freeport.
For the rest of the night expect more cloudy weather with some drizzle and precipitation possible lasting until around 11:00 as temperatures will be dropping.
Wind will increase tonight to nearly 20 mph in the area with temps dropping to around 26 degrees by midnight.
Currently the roads are pretty slick out there and the snow is falling fast. If you’re traveling, give yourself time to get where you’re going, and please drive safe.
One thing for sure, it sure makes for a beautiful winter setting in Freeport.
